BX2000 Price New Used

I'm in a town with a Kubota dealer who doesn't like to cut his prices much. As a result, I'm looking for a used BX, but there really aren't many out there. But I did find one and wanted to see if you guys think it's a good or bad price. Garage-kept BX2200, year old, 150 hours with rear blade for $9,500. The owner said he'd get a trade-in for about $8,500. He want's to trade up. Seems to be $1,500-$2,000 off what I'd pay new and maybe he'd deal. The new prices are all over the map. Wes

Tractorsmart.com has a new BX2200 with a 60" mower for $9950 and a new BX1800 with a 54" mower for $8800

Lightweight rear blades sell for $150 or less at the local ranch supply store.

I don't wish to be too obvious, but they are still making money at these prices.

Suggestion: go to the Kubota web site and put your zip code on the dealer finder page. Find some other zips within a 100-mile radius of yours and put them in too. You will get dozens of hits. Call them up and get their prices. I'm betting one of them will get damn close to Tractorsmarts price. If you don't have a truck or a trailer, some dealers will deliver for that price. If they don't deliver, rent something from u-haul or the local rental yard and go get it. If it’s kind of far away bring your sweetie and have a nice dinner and a motel with all the money you are saving. I think it would be a good idea to take your written quote into the local dealer to show him what tractors sell for in the real world. Never know, he might wake up.

When I purchased my BX2200 2.5 years ago I looked at Carver and a dealer about 2 hrs away who would not deliver both were better deals than the local dealer I went with thinking I would get better service. Wrong. If you buy new I suggest shopping the dealer and the tractor. As for the used price, keep in mind tractors do not depreciate like cars do and original owner may have worked out the issues with fuel leakage and the 3ph arms. ....
